Survive, Rebuild, Heal
This CAFOD Family Fast Day, we can help people facing the worst of the coronavirus crisis. We’ve all felt the impact of this terrible disease – let’s come together to help the poorest and most vulnerable people in the world survive, rebuild and heal.
This CAFOD Family Fast Day, please pray for all those affected and donate:
* Online at: https://cafod.org.uk/give
* By texting CAFOD to 70085 to donate £10 to CAFOD’s Coronavirus Appeal.
Texts cost £10 plus one standard rate message and you’ll be opting in to hear more about our work and fundraising by telephone and SMS. If you’d like to give £10 but do not wish to receive marketing communications, text CAFODNOINFO to 70085.
* Using the Harvest Day envelopes available at church
What your donation can do
£17.70 could buy hygiene packs for three vulnerable families, containing soap, washing powder and reusable face masks.
£12 can deliver an emergency food package containing essentials like rice, bean and eggs to a family in isolation.
£33 can give a religious leader information about coronavirus, which they can share with their community.
£135 can install one community handwashing point and train 25 villagers in safe hand-washing.
“In our reflection on the current global pandemic, we have seen that it has made us sensitive to an even graver virus affecting our world: that of social injustice, lack of equal opportunity and the marginalisation of the poor and those in greatest need.”
“Christ’s example and teaching show us that a preferential option for the poor is an essential criterion of our authenticity as his followers.”
“May the gospel inspire us to find ever more creative ways to exercise that charity, grounded in faith and anchored in hope, which can heal our wounded world and promote the true welfare of our entire human family.”
