“You are not making a gift of what is yours to the poor man but you are giving him back what is his…” St Ambrose
As a parish we support CAFOD’s Family Fast Days held in March and October each year.
On Family Fast Day, we are invited to eat a simple meal for lunch or dinner and give the money saved to CAFOD. In 2020 our Lent donations went to support highly-trained and skilled local experts around the world who save and support the health of the world’s poorest families.
We also give out small change collection boxes.
We promote World Gifts CAFOD's virtual charity gifts that transform lives. Perfect for Christmas, baptisms, birthdays and anniversaries. Visit www.cafod.org.uk/worldgifts for more information.
Donations received from tea and coffee after Sunday mass and other miscellaneous donations help to fund CAFOD’s Hands On Project to build peace in Magdalena Medio in the north of Colombia.
From time to time CAFOD launches an emergency appeal in response to a disaster. We are currently helping millions of people whose lives are at risk, as coronavirus spreads across refugee camps and countries suffering conflict. You can donate at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/St-Marys-RC-Parish-Middlewich-Cafod.  This link is used to give a donation directly to CAFOD via an external site known as 'Just Giving'.  This link has been created by the Parish CAFOD team so donations go directly to CAFOD.

August 2020

CAFOD has joined with the UK Disasters Emergencies Committee to help millions of people whose lives are at risk, as coronavirus spreads across refugee camps and countries suffering conflict. You can donate at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/St-Marys-RC-Parish-Middlewich-Cafod to help CAFOD scale up its coronavirus response through our global Church family.

Alternatively use CAFOD’s Summer of Hope fundraising ideas with your family and friends to transform lockdown and raise money for the appeal: https://cafod.org.uk/Fundraise/School-fundraising/Summer-of-Hope
